15 Japanese Companies will Invest in Gujarat, Infra Loan at Cheap Rates

Gujaratonweb: 13 Sep, 2017, During the visit of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, about 15 Japanese companies will sign an agreement to invest in Gujarat. At the same time, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will give the cheapest loan for the construction of the infrastructure. This information was given by the government.

According to Gujarat Chief Secretary JN Singh, 15 Japanese companies are keen to invest in the state. He will also sign an agreement with the state government on Thursday during the 12th Japan-India Annual Conference.

He said, "Apart from the agreements, the cooperation memorandum will be signed for the development of infrastructure in the state including the development of Alang Shipyard in Bhavnagar between the Gujarat Government and JICA. JICA will provide infra loan to the state government at a cheaper rate for infrastructure development. The Summit will be organized in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe. Let the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe come on a two-day visit to India from September 13.

"The 17-18 agreements will be signed during the summit," said D Thara, Vice President and Managing Director, Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation, GIDC. Of these, 15 will be between Japanese companies and GIDC. He told that 15 companies are committed to investing in Gujarat. GIDC has started the process of buying land for this. These companies will sign MOU with GIDC during the conference. The information will be given later on how much companies are investing.
